Louie's B'day
Happy 26th Birthday dearie! I hope you had a great time even though it was a simple affair :)
Hello World! I'm back with more updates! Celebrated Louie's birthday over the weekend and it was top notch collaboration with my family and Louie's friends! I think I'm getting better at surprises though I blew the first one with my family. -wails-
Mummy made her specialty- Korean BBQ! This time the ingredients were so much better and I think Louie was pretty touched. Jas and Jo surprised Louie by getting him a trendy skinny tie in grey and guess what? Louie has been looking for a skinny tie!!! Thanks girls, for making the effort to buy the gift and come home for dinner despite your busy schedules. My parents didn't know what to get Louie, so they gave him a red packet instead. It felt so much like he belonged in the family and my parents adore him! -beams-
Here's just the pictures from the cake cutting..

Sunday was the big day! I was in cahoots with Louie's best friend's fiance, Evelyn. We wanted to plan a surprise for the best friends, who incidentally are born 3 days apart. Evelyn and I roped in Zaw, Tara, Flo and Vivian :) Before the surprise dinner, it was Vivian's farewell brunch at Paulaner's.
Went in Jo's pretty white dress and styled my hair a little differently. I was pleasantly surprised at the array of food that the Sunday brunch at Paulaner's offered. It was a lethal combination of meat, sausages, fish, salads and of course DESSERTS! Being a carbo addict, I downed my mashed potato. It was that good! The crisp pork knuckles, fresh vegetables and tender meat helped. They even offered a variety of sauces instead of the usual ketchup, chilli and mayo. Time to experiment and eat my fill! AND I DID! teeheehee.
Paulaner's brunch is offered on Sundays, on the 2nd level. I never knew they had brunches, let alone such a wonderful one. I thought it was just a nice pub to chillax. They offer free flow of beer to, their signature beer, for the Germans of course. It's perhaps a real ATAS brunch where the management is so thoughtful as to have a children's play corner where parents can leave their children to play while they wine and dine. I paid just $35 for it. The last time I went to Werner's oven, I paid say $32? Paulaner's brunch is worth it alrighty!!! I want to bring my sisters there!!!!!!!

The man's really big!!!

After the movie, Evelyn and I brought the boys to Absolute Haven, a little cosy fine dining restaurant at 70 Prinsep Street, just opposite Paradiz Centre. It was ranked number 2 by hungrygowhere.com for its superb service, good food, ambience and of course its reasonable price.
Louie and Paul thought it was just the 4 of us, but well surprise!! Tara, Flo, Viv and Zaw came!!
Evelyn and I started planning around 2 weeks ago, we thought of everything. Initially, we wanted to have a surprise BBQ at VJC, ODAC style, but because we were afraid that it might rain, we thought this might be a better idea. We thought of locations like Dempsey, lovely food and ambience but it would have been pricey for the guests. Absolute Haven more than saved the day.
Just to reiterate on their excellent service. They offered strawberry iced water instead of the usual lemon ones. A pleasant experience! They were extremely polite and topped up our glasses frequently. When Flo had a headache, they even provided panadol! The surpise cake came in such a pretty presentation... I really like their service!

Dear Viv returned to Canada last night and I cried and cried. I've made a wonderful friend and I'll miss her dearly. Till May Viv... I'll take care of Flo for you... we're all waiting for you to return in May. All the best in your final semester.. -hugs-
