I highlighted my hair!

Taking a breather form intensive project session. The 9 of us, 8 boys and a girl are way ambitious. We intend to finish up our project in a day! Can hard keep my eyes open cause I just took a dose of medicine. Speaking of medicine, my horrid cough + flu + fever + headache's back! AND I look like I've got some disease. For the first time in my life, I have an allergic reaction to something I ate! Was it the almond cookies Grace offered? Prawns from dim sum buffet? I never had allergies prior this. It was so bad, I slept for only half an hour last night because I itch all over. It was horrifying because the swells first resemble a cluster of mozzie bites, then they enlarge to become as huge as the area covered by my fist! The swellings were everywhere! From every inch of my back, to my arms, to my stomach, to my legs... Thank God the worse is over. The swellings are gone and so is the itch! The medication makes me ultra sleepy though..
I hope the disease resembling rash doesn't return with a vengence!
OOh and I highlighted my hair and bout a killer vintage dress for the Jarkarta trip. Am unable to put up pictures at the moment because my camera's with Louie for the whole of his trip.
Hopefully, I'll be able to get some pictures from Louie's mum cause she deletes her pictures once she develops them.
Take care everyone! Drink more water and do NOT fall sick!
lalala.. :)

Bash at Butterfactory..

Oops!! -grin- My dress slid off a little while taking a crazy shot with yinks! Wanted to do a backshot I wore a bareback dress! Eusoff DnD bash 2008. It has been so long since I really clubbed. A year perhaps? As usual, I didn't take any alcohol but I did enjoy dancing with Freda and the A3 girls. They're such a cute bunch!

Earlier on, we had our dance uncensored vetting at KR. Our items got in! yayness!! After that, it was a chaotic time of dressing up for the bash. The A3 tradition - we're late late late. The privilege of being seniors.. -grin-

Here's a shot of Freda doing Jessica's make-up.

A pretty shot of Claud in her blue dress.. and tada..here's my new haircut... short fringe! I've had the previous hairstyle forever! My hair is no longer at my hip too!
My dress from the back... the girls exclaimed it was HOT!!! I got this dress from Far East around 1.5 years ago..kinda cheap!
With the pageant representatives. Andrew and Olivia :)
The sweetest couple at the bash. Darren and Yinks.. My turn! I got to know Ying Hui from a group project last year and we've bonded since then. She's one of the sweetest and more sincere girls I know...Darren is one lucky chap!

Stayed till about 1:30 am and headed back cause I had tutorial to complete. Guess what? Met Nick on the way back and we had supper.. Murtabak with cheese and Nasi Lemak. We were both so hungry!!!!!!!!!! I had the greatest conversation with him and Nick, if you're reading this.. I think you're special too! I'm so glad we're friends :)

Thanks for the comforting talk and the gorgeous view.. it was worth the ten thousand mozzie bites... :) We've got to do this again! This time, I'll be armed with repellent -winks-

Priscilla's 23rd B'day

Celebrated Priscilla's b'day over a simple dinner at Vivocity. We went to sushi tei! It was a healthy meal because my dear friend is trying to lose weight for her wedding dress. I'm so happy to see her happily married. She's doing really well, on her way to first class hons and working towards a PHD and she married a man of God, one who loves God dearly. I'm so happy for the girl! She looked so radiant!!!!!!!!!!! Shiming, our chauffer, and my dear friend who took pains to organise the b'day lunch
I wore my new dress that Louie bought from Supre in perth.

-chuckles- Shiming down to serious business - choosing his main course!
The ladies got the better seats!
Group shot while waiting for our food
Ah.. soft shell crab maki
Paper pot...yummm

hahha..I love the greedy expression!
Unagi
The agashi tofu was fabulous!
Lunch left me contented. The company was priceless and I had such a great time with Shiming and Pris. They walked me off to the taxi stand and I hugged both of them, promising to keep in contact after we start working.
Next up: I cut my hair! I wanted a BIG change and my korean hairstylist gave me bangs! I've got short hair now!!! I'm trying to get used to it. Next time would be to highlight my hair to give it a more natural, sun kissed look :)

Feeling kind of down today. Looked at endless list of things to complete before I fly off next Thursday to Indonesia and mustered up whatever courage I had to start revision. My term break will be shuffling in between dance practices, project meetings and revision for my test. I think I might just camp over at Bizad canteen ;)
The girls are all out today. I guess it's cause term break's approaching. I'm happy for them. Claud stayed up the night before with me to complete her hand-made gift for her boyfriend. Freda stayed up last night to mug for her test today. Angel and Grace are at class right now.
There are times when I feel uncertain about the future. I'm about to graduate and embark on the final phase of growing up. Career choices. I'm frightened of growing up.
I spent the last 3 hours in the safe refuge of my room, shutting out the world, reading, planning for the next few days and committing the rest of my time in prayer. I felt a sense of peace, an assurance. It isn't the same when you hear from others assuring that you've got what it takes to make it. I think the bottomline is that I've been so caught up in the whirlwind of busyness, that I've put God in second place. I miss Him.
Whenever I'm down, I turn to blogging. It feels really good to pen down my thoughts and I suddenly have the urge to go for a long run since I have 1.5hours before Justis's dance prac at 9pm. Things always brighten up after a good run and an undisturbed sleep.
On a happier note, I'm meeting Shiming and Pris again on Friday! I had the most wonderful lunch with them last Wednesday, before V'day. Shall put up the pictures and blog about it tomorrow!
I don't have much of V'day pictures except that I cut my hair. It's really short now and I have bangs! I'm still trying to get used to it because I gave my hairstylist the greenlight for EXTREME change!
I'm happy for everyone else that enjoyed their V'day. I saw how my little sister enjoyed hers, the girls on A3 got lovely presents! Orchard was really crowded that day. Couples were strolling hand in hand.
I wonder why Singaporeans are generally so cynical towards V'day? It hurts to hear that it's a day where stupid men get conned into buying expensive flowers and dinner. Yes it's commercialised, but so is Christmas and New Year's Eve and even our birthdays.
V'day to me is beyond commercialism. It's a special day where you put in a little more effort to shower love to your treasured ones. It doesn't have to be complicated or expensive, just thoughtful. "Everyday should be like V'day". It's true but too idealistic. We get so caught up with schoolwork, with work. To be honest, I believe that V'day exists for a reason. We can't surprise our loved ones everyday with cards, or flowers. Romance tends to the thin side when we're working and put in a foul mood because of heavy workload. I wish we can all just see beyond the cynicism.
The simple lunch with Shiming and Pris over at sushi tei made my day and it just made me more determined to make an effort to meet them after I graduate. I really appreciate how Shiming plans our meet-ups. It takes time and effort to plan something and I will not take him for granted.
Till Friday :) -hugs-
P.S. If you're reading this, I just want to say I'm blessed to have a friend like you :)

Gong Xi Fa Chai! - A blessed CNY to everyone!

A blessed CNY to everyone! I had a wonderful 3 days break over the CNY weekend! Even though Louie left for Perth with his family, I had the best time with my family and my sisters. I missed them tremendously!

Sent Louie and his family off at the airport on CNY's eve. Marion, Dino's gf was there too!
After tutorial, I went home. Met Zhi Yuan on the bus and we had the longest, nicest talk ever. Zhi Yuan's the perfect gentleman!

Looking all greedy at the fish my Dad made. It was GGOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!
Crisp on the outside, tender on the inside..and that spicy sauce...oooh
Fatty Pork that melted in my mouth.
Louie would have loved this! Giant tiger prawns in white wine garlic sauce
Shark's fin anyone?

Abalone
I love my vege!
My favourite dish of the day. Herbal chicken soup. No salt added. Just the incredible sweetness of the herbs. I was enslaved to the tender chicken that melted in my mouth.
5 people at dinner, 7 dishes.
Nothing left!! The damage!

CNY day 1 - church! It's indeed a blessing to be in the Lord's presence on the first day of the new year :)
After church, it was over to grandma's for steamboat. She makes the best steamboat I say! And that perfect golden crisp tempura prawns...

CNY day 1 -part 2.
Stayed at grandma's till abour 7 ish and we went over to my Aunt's. My aunt invited this lady who had the cutest dog. She demonstrated her talents - one of which was to stand on her hind legs!

CNY-Day 2 : To Dad's side of the family. First stop, Uncle Ronnie's!
The spread of peranakan buffet!

With my Popo.. does she look 60? NAH!

Our unglamorous side..
Jo and Jas love this. Chicken wrapped in pandan leaf I think?
HAha.. told you the food was good!
CNY-part 2 : After Uncle Ronnie's, Dad took us to a movie.. guess which one?

AH Long PTE LTD!! -chuckles-

CNY part 3- Then it was dinner at Popo Neo's place. I'm proud of my peranakan heritage and the fantabulous food that comes with it. My PoPo(pronounced with the Malay accent) used to cook for celebrities! Ahh Louie missed his fav sambal, home made peranakan otah, AND the traditional crab meat ball soup!!!

This shot is for you dearie!!!!! The best crab meat ball soup I've ever had!
Took a pic with my pretty little cousin. :)
That's all for my first 2 days of CNY visiting.. dad held a home party on Sat and he cooked prawn noodles. Everyone loves it.. EVERYONE.... I think 50 people came over for his yummyliciousorgasmicallytasty broth.. it was hours of boiling!!!!
I was pretty disappointed that this would be the 2nd year Louie's missing CNY with my family. last year, when we first got together, it was difficult co-ordinating our visits. This year, he went to Perth. Felt the disappointment when my relatives asked for him.. wanted him to have a taste of the TYE family's CNY! Next year perhaps?
