Funkamania

Louie left for Australia today. It'll be around 3 weeks before I see him again. It was nice seeing him off at the airport cause he gave me one of the tightest hug ever. I know the Lord will take good care of him.

Justis chose the girls for Funkamania today and I didn't get in to the 6. I was terribly disappointed cause I very much wanted to do Funka before I graduate. But I guess like what he says when he gave us all a prep talk, you may think you're better, but there are just some things you don't realise about yourself. I knew it would hard getting in. I think the girls deserve it though. I'm genuinely happy for them. Each of them are special in their own way and I shouldn't hold it in my heart.

I think Justis did make a wise choice and I'm going to support the team all the way. Perhaps I'll get to join sometime. I don't know about it. I do love dancing but I know I will not continue dancing as hard once I graduate so it's okay.

I miss Louie because at disheartening times like these, he's the first guy I call. I need a big hug but I'll wait for him to come back for one. For the first time, I felt what it is like to be rejected. I guess I'm sort of the kind that gets what she wants, dance competitions, interviews, jobs... but it's a good feeling. I will continue to dance just as hard this last year. For everything that God has given me, I will treasure it. Thank you Lord, for giving me the peace in every situation, please also take care of the guy I love. :)

Time for work work and more work!

Grace

Final Talentime Performance

October 18th, 2007.
My very last talentime performance for Eusoff before I graduate next year. I feel a little disheartened knowing I would have to leave all these behind in less than a year's time. I've grown tremendously as a dancer ever since I moved from Sheares to Eusoff. The friends I've made, the drilling dance practices, the exhilaration of performing, that all too familar stomachacheIneedtoAhem feeling... I think I'm about to tear.. Eusoff has given me so much. Hall life has made my Uni days so vibrant. It has made me more independent, more opened to new friendships. It has given me a passion - dancing. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You Eusoff..
Left to Right: Jacky, Chii Tarng ( also my co-choreographer for DP), Andrew
The 3 boys with Patrick, a dancer with lots of potential.

Met Selina today and it feels so good to see the girl. She lost so much weight! Selina's one of the nicest girl from Eusoff.

Louie rushed down from work to watch me dance. Initially, he told me he couldn't make it. I didn't want him to come from work cause he would have been really tired. In the past, he would support me at every dance performance and competition. Sometimes, he would bring little snacks and drinks that kept me going. Seeing him today meant more than any other day. He came despite everything else at work. My heart just swelled with love.

More shots with the senior girls. I don't think I'm biased but Eusoff IS THE HALL where all the pretty dancers reside. These dolls have the x-factor!

I adore these crazy shots taken by Louie. Our happy smiles.. it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy!

Dearie, though you look like a monkey in his shot, I still love you. I don't want to be Tan Tye Chee!!! -grins-

Thank you for coming. :)

Happy 1 year Anniversary!

Monday,1st Oct 2007. It marks Louie's & my 1st year anniversary. Since the unsure, tender step taken a year ago, our relationship has grown and blossomed. God had placed Louie into my life and he has made me so happy. Though there were tearful, painful moments, I don't think I would trade my relationship with Louie for any amount of gold or riches. Thank you darling, for this past year. I want us to be together, always and always, through the good and the bad.
Louie and I didn't get to do much on our special day because I fell sick. I was down with fever and a cold for 2 weeks. That didn't dampen my mood cause Louie surprised me with a cake AND A VERY FIRST BOUQUET of flowers! Throughout our relationship, he never did give me flowers cause he thought it was a little gay to carry a bouquet of flowers around. Yet, he did it. I was so touched.
Louie got me out of the room and when I came back, he was holding a cake with a lighted candle and he sprang the surprise bouquet of flowers on me. I was pleasantly surprised and smiled like an idiot, non-stop too! So sweet.. Louie told me the there were ten roses in the bouquet which represented shi quan shi mei(perfection) in mandarin. I literally melted.. awww..
Louie took Thursday off so that we could celebrate our anniversary. I begged him to let me plan something because I wanted him to feel special, just like how I would feel whenever I'm with him. I wanted a day with a series of simple pleasures so I took a week to plan the day!
11th October, 2007, I skipped marketing lecture so that we could spend the day together.
The blissful day started at 11 am where we travelled to Raffles Place by bus to have the best claypot rice ever. I didn't want Louie to drive cause it wasn't convenient to park the car. We emerged from Uncle Sam's with satisfied grins and bulging tummies. EVERY single dish was ORGASMICALLYTUMMYSATISFYINGLYGOOD!!!!
The rice was fragrant and tasty with salted fish. The chicken and beef were tender and well-marinated. The burnt bits of rice from the claypot was crunchy and heavenly. The prawn rolls were not oily, yet extremely crisp. The fish Otah was so tender, it literally melted in my mouth.. the kailan.. oh I can't stop raving about it! All in all, Uncle Sam's serves the bestestbestbestbestmostbestestbestbest claypot rice ever!!!!!!! -beams-

After our claypot rice fiasco, it was supposed to be a sweaty, exhilarating game of squash but guess what? We both fell asleep the moment we got back. So, there we were, 2 hours in A313, sleeping away - chuckles-

I woke Louie up at around 3:30 where we showered and changed up for the special evening planned. He drove down to Holland village and I brought him to Spa Espirit for a hot stone massage! -chuckles- He didn't guess that the next item planned was a massage!!!! For once, I successfully managed a surprise!!!!! Oh and I saw Vincent Ng at Holland Village ( my sister's favourite actor)

There we were, spending more than an hour, succumbing to the seasoned-well trained masseuse. I chose the Hot-Stones massage from a recommendation. (Potatomate, thanks for the suggestion to check out Spa-Espirit. It was so good!) The massage adopted the creative use of hot stones where the heat from the stones softens the muscle tissue to prepare the body for a deeper and more intensive massage. The heat coupled with a firm and long stroked massage gets the kinks out of your tension spots! Incidentally, Spa Espirit is also the original Hot Stoner in Singapore. The established Spa chain has two branches, one in holland V and the other at the Paragon. They have a new branch at Dempsey too and that branch offeres a complementary jacuzzi treat with every treatment booked. YouHaveToTryIt!!

After the most wonderful massage I've had, I brought Louie to Coffee bean to have his favourite Iced blended Pecan Praline. How could I not end the massage session with a relaxing chillax time. Pecan Praline to the rescue!!

Coffee bean offered this new cake too- chocolate toblerone cheesecake. The name says it all. It is by far, the best cake from coffee bean. :)

At 6:45 pm, it was time for the last surprise of the day! Dinner at Villa Bali with two very special guests, Flo and Viv who just came back from The Philippines. It was funny because on the way to Holland V, Louie suggested meeting them soon cause we haven't met up since they left for their Holiday. I was inwardly smiling and almost couldn't contain the excitement, knowing that they were coming!!!!! I had to mentally chant the mantra, don't slip up, don't give the surprise away!

Louie and I were early so that I could present him his hand-made gift. It was my 2nd attempt cause the first album was too ugly. I tried too hard to be artistic! -grimaces-

It was worth it cause he smiled so happily when he saw the gift. It made me feel happy too!

While waiting, we also went around Villa Bali. Villa Bali is located at Lock Road, a quiet, untouched, corner of Singapore. It was so beautiful, nicer than any villas, restaurants than Bali itself. Not many people know of the place cause it is not widely advertised to retain the tranquility. I can't describe the place in words. It makes you sigh with bliss. Even Flo and Viv raved about the place throughout the evening.

Villa Bali offeres Balinese, Thai, Indian and Western cuisine and they are all equally good. The butter chicken was one of the best I've had so far.

The mantou that came in the platter was crunchy, warm and yummy!
After dinner, we decided to get us mocktails. That was when Flo and Viv surprised us with our anniversary presents. It was our cake! Flo, Viv, Herbie, Louie, and my cake. The ones we always devour when we're together.

It wasn't just the cake. Flo and Viv made us a card too. I was so flushed with surprised and happiness, I almost teared.

Flo and Viv are such warm-hearted friends. All my life, I've been happy doing things for others, because happiness illuminating from their faces brings joy to me. Now I truly know how it feels when friends you treasure go all the way to do lovely things for you. Viv and Flo came despite a hectic day at work because I asked them to be part of my suprise to Louie. They came. It was sufficient, but they went all the way to do much more. How can I ever thank them?

Flo and Viv made the night so special. Thank you my darlings, because I won't ever forget this. Louie and my anniversary couldn't have been more special.

To louie,

I love you.

love,
Grace

Shuting's not so surprising SURPRISE 23rd GALAND THEMED B'DAY PARTY

It was Shuting's birthday yesterday and I wanted to surprise her with a Garland themed party the Saturday before her big day. Boy did I ruin the surprise! Thinking I was the most brilliant mastermind alive, I messaged her boyfriend, Mars to recruit him into my dark plan. HOWEVER, I ruined it by messaging her when I mass messaged the other A3 girls. The only excuse was that I was too used to message the usual group of girls. -wails- I thought I could finally plan a surprise!!!!
A word of advice. Never recruit me into surprises. The last time Mars wanted to send Shuting a surprise bouquet of flowers for V-Day, he asked me for her address. I CONVENIENTLY went to ask her for it! How stupid can I get!??! She found out about the flowers before she got them!
Then there was Louie's surprise B'day party. Louie put it right - I am ditzy..
NEVERTHELESS! I'm determined to plan a surprise for him this Thursday! It is our belated one year anniversary celebration!!! - crosses fingers, toes and eyes -
Dearie, thank you for running around with me on a Saturday to get the garlands done, buy the cake, decorate the place... The warmth and smile that illuminated Shuting's face that night made me go all warm and fuzzy. She is a friend I will always treasure. Always and always. :)
We got the garlands from Little India. Louie didn't drive that day, so we endured the sorching heat and carried the pretty hand made garlands to vivo.
After running around for a few hours, we decided to rest our feet at Coffee Bean. Louie has a new love -wails- It's the ice blended Pecan Praline flavour from Coffee Bean!
I was temporarily forgotten...
Or maybe not.. -grin- The rich texture of it, coupled with the aroma of Pecan was heavenly!

After the much needed break, we hopped into a cab and went over to the Birthday Venue Marcellus (Shuting's BF) booked. It is a place called 211 Rooftop Terrace Cafe at Holland Shopping Centre. It was the perfect ambience for a garland party and the food was pleasantly good and affordable. I would recommend the steak and the other meaty dishes over the pasta. However, their service was pretty much compromised by unsmiling staff and tardy deliveries of requests.

Setting up the place with our garlands.
Taking pretty pictures near dusk.Playing around with the colour accent function of my camera. The object of focus was the pretty orchid garland.
The guests streamed in. The A3 girlies!!!!!! Grace, Angel, Yumin, Qin Mei, Andrea, Tian, Yong Ming, Mars ( the BF) and Louie!

Shuting arrived later, which was pretty well planned by Mars. She looked pretty in her brown dress and perfectly coordinated makeup. The unplanned surprise was that Mars wore a polo shirt of the exact shade of brown! The couple looked great!
We took turns taking pictures with the B'day Girl.

The food came after a while!! Yummy yummy yummy I've got love in my tummy!

And then there's Qin Mei's and Yuimin's crazy EMO-NEMO shots. They REALLY enjoyed it. These are just some of the FEW shots. -chuckles-

I was the tree! My green dress and the overwhelming bloom of flowers! teeheehee
Tian and Yong Ming came later due to work. They were in time for the cake! Yong Ming's also known as Ahmad cause he's the sweetest boyfriend. He is Tian's personal Chauffer 24/7, daily to work, after.... anywhere else...
The colourful cake! I heart colours!!!! And particularly this combination from Secret Recipe. Cheeze Choc - a sinful combination.

The group photos!

Happy Birthday my dearest friend. I pray for God's blessing to be upon you, Mars and everyone you treasure. May you be happy and pretty always!
