Les Chattes

Meooowwwwww!

Hello World! I apologise for the lack of diligence in blogging! I've been so busy juggling work, dancing and the dance competition I was in. To all my beloved friends who voted for me, thank you! I hope the phone bills aren't too high. -winces-

Introducing Les Chattes! To the French speaking compatriots, I know it means pussy! It wasn't supposed to be!! -grrr- My dance partner Renae, asked a mutual friend of ours, Francois on what cats are called in French. He jokingly said Les Chattes, jolly well knowing that it meant pussy instead of cats. Renae thought he was serious and Viola! LES CHATTES.. that was how we got our team name :)

Renae and I were determined to win the competition and put in all we've got. Practices after work, putting our costumes together... hours and hours spent honing the steps and changing choreography after receiving constructive comments from those who have seen it.. it gave it all we've got and though we came in 2nd, I've got not an ounce of regret.

On the big day, the 2 guys who have been with Renae and me all the way - Our handsome friend Flo, the angry ang mo of Singapore.

And the guy who has held my hand every step of the way, encouraging me when I'm most tired, spending hours to help edit my music, and my driver and waterboy.. - Louis.

Tada!!! Les Chattes !!!

At Shangri La hotel..

Receiving our prizes.. At that moment, I was struggling to smile cause I knew the first prize was between us the 4th team.. we had a shot.. it was a close fight. Then again $1000 for 2nd ain't that bad and I won much more. I had my boyfriend cheering me on, my wonderful German friend, Flo who came despite being sick.. and Renae and I got even closer in through the practices that stretched for 3 months since our first audition.

Guess who I met? Maverick!!!!! He's one of my favourite gentle giant Pei Huan and I met at class in NUS. He told me he votes 100 times for our team until his mobile gave up on him..-chuckles- Thank you Mav!Went for a birthday party after the competition. I looked tired...it was 1 am! Ever since I've started work, I hardly last beyond midnight.. -cheesy grin- BUT I totally recovered after the house party cause Louie brought Renae and I to my favourite Bak Ku Teh!!! I realised I was really really hungry... You tend to forget your hunger when you're dancing and you ignore the pleas of your tummy when you're tired. For the record, I can eat 2 bowls of rice whenever I'm at the place. I can't remember the name of the shop but it's pretty near Zouk..so I call it Zouk Ba kut teh.. SATISFACTION.mmmm....

Yay! I've successfully blogged. Will try to upload the video soon! Have to bug Louis for it. OOh and I should really let Flo guess blog..so fun!!!
Sorry boys, but I'm going to get all mushy again. Warning.. leave the page because it's going to get really really REALLY mushy..
Dearie,
Thank you for being here for me. Despite everything that has happened, you've never been anything other than supportive.
And I've come to realise that despite my imperfections, you're perfect for me because you see beyond all that.
I love you very very much.
:)

Hello World!

Hello World! I've MIA-ed for almost a month again! Trying my best to update cause crazywonderfulfun stuff has been going on ;)
Did a dance event for Bizad's DnD with the Eunique girls and then it was Dance Blast's concert. Endless practice and muscle ache but it was worth it because of the girls and the new friends I've made... learning new routines and picking up new styles of dance. Cheers to the fabulous choreos!!!!! This wasn't meant to be a random shot! We were trying to look like we were hanging in the closet..

Winnie and Yisi!! 2 blast seniors I've come to really respect!

Oh and I've been working for around 4 months now! It feels different after graduating. No more tiny sundresses and flip flops or missing classes or dancing till wee hours of the night (actually I think I still dance till pretty late at times). I feel more inclined towards being accountable for my own decisions and performance at work. I think of my parents, my loved ones and how I want to give them the best I can offer. It's not about living for yourself and I love it. I find joy in being able to forgo a beloved dress or an expensive meal in order to save up for the special people in my life.

I also recently celebrated 2 birthdays on the same day. First up, Randy's b'day!! Happy 29th Randy!!! I love my team and my bosses. wheeeeThe girls and I have all officially started working. The regular dancing and emails exchanged during free time at work brought us even closer.

Ding Ding's mini surprise during her b'day!

Ding ding smiling happily at her Canele cake.

Went to Batam recently too! I love my new bikini. -grin- Have to show off the nice shade of turquoise.

Tada! Not a glamourous shot butbut butBUT!! I think I have a tiny wee bit of abs!!! All the gymming and crazy dance practices.. yay! Lost the flab from Europe!

Wonderwoman gone terribly wrong.

Olympus's new underwater camera. I did a really cool modelling event for them last year when they launched their new underwater cam series. I remember all the food that I got to stuff my face in after the event. Made some new friends who were at the event too! :)

That's all for now! Will try to update again next weekend..this time on daddy's bday, in depth entry on past dance performances, upcoming birthdays and the new friend's I've made!
Xoxo,
Grace still loves Gossip Girl!
P.S. to my friends: I'm sorry I've been crazy busy. Don't forget me!! Ask me out please! my number is still 936***17! I Miss you!!

Vienna day 2 and 3

Nat!!!!!!!!
I saw your comment!!! Here's what happened in Vienna!! Will be putting up pictures of Germany soon!! I miss you!!!

In Vienna, Anna generous housed Herbie, Viv, Dan and I at her place. We woke up to breakfast in her garden in the morning. What a way to start the day. -chuckles- Viv lights up whenever there's FOOD! Anna has two dogs and a fattyyyyy cat Mizi!!!
Outside Anna's house. An endless field.. the sort you see in the movies? Anna then drove us to the theme park which has been around for 200 years!!!!!! I witnessed the black and white pictures of the first ferris wheel.
What were we looking at? A bird..a plane.. ? -grin-

It's... it's... it's... a giant pig!!
Giant Pig turned out to contain an ATM machine. Viv got so excited. She ran all the way for a picture with the giant pig. It oinked!!!
Spotted goofing around. The Fantastic Four
The orgasmic Viennese Chocolate drink with ice cream and and and!!! the chocolate cakeeeeeee. Envious? hehe

Soccer mania.
Look who got a kiss?
Visited the Viennese town. It was crazy because we walked so much and needed rest. Viv and I sat down to talk and two European guys asked if we could pose in a picture for them. We had to get used to it. Everywhere we went, Viv, Nat and I were approached because we were dark haired asians amongst the sea of Europeans. -grin- That made us more appealing than the monuments and places of interest huh? We should have charged 2 euros per picture or conversation and perhaps buy ourselves more gelatos.
Anna arranged a BBQ session. Since she stayed in a small town, EVERYONE in her village came. The young, the old... it was so heartwarming. The piping hot BBQed meat tasted heavenly especially since it was cold at night.
We had breakfast the next day. Breathtaking view overlooking Vienna.

Then it was to an event in Anna's church. Everyone came to help at the fundraising.
Live band. Anna's best friend was playing!
And my favourite picture of the day.... dear viv..
Anna, thank you for having us at your place. Thank you for taking the weekend to do so despite having work to do. Viv, Herbie, Dan and I had a great time and we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more Vienna in any other way. Thank you for the friendship. -hugs-

Vienna day 1

At the train station, ready to depart! Anna, Viv and Herbie..here I come! Not too much of a back-packer in a dress huh? But it was so hot! (P.S. and I like my tiny dress!)
Met two gorgeous Viennese girls.
Little Anna sat on my lap and we communicated despite speaking entirely different languages. I call it innate girlish bonding. Isn't she pretty? Beautiful almond shaped blue eyes, blong hair and flawless skin..and that smile.!! awww..
Viv flew over from Munich and we spent a great weekend together. Anna brought us to see the castle before heading over to the fanzone. The grin on my face reflected how jubilant I was to spend time with the two girls I miss tremendously.
My lovely girls.
Vienna's castle!

Anna and Viv gave their arms a good workout.

And in the evening, Anna took us to the fanzone. Other than going crazy during the World Cup, I confess that I don't know how to appreciate soccer. I was TRANSFORMED in Europe. It was the atmosphere, the people, the kick ass huge screen TVs, the cheering. I became an ardent cheering fan!
I spotted the cutest fan! -grin-

And decided to support Croatia.

Vienna day 2..coming up!!
